Safety
Magnolia Painting works within OSHA guidelines to keep our customers and employees safe. Working on ladders, and working with certain painting compounds is dangerous when done incorrectly. At Magnolia Painting we prep our work area, wear proper personal protective equipment, employ proper ladder safety guidelines, and clean our work area in a manner that keeps our customers and our employees as safe as possible.
Integrity
At Magnolia Painting we do what’s right. Honesty, accountability, and respect are a few words that describe how we embody integrity. Sometimes mistakes happen, and when they do, it is our duty to take responsibility for those mistakes, and promptly take action to correct the issue. At Magnolia Painting we firmly believe that “treating others the way you would want to be treated” is fundamental to maintaining integrity.

Communication
Effective communication is the lubrication for a healthy relationship. We keep our customers involved in the painting process from start to finish. We ensure that we understand exactly what our customers want, and how they want it done. This means having a detailed scope of work, updating customers with a daily scope of work every morning, and doing a walkthrough at the end of every day. This includes any questions or clarifications that may need to be made throughout the process. The process of communication does not end until the job is done.
Perseverance
No job is alike, and every job comes with its own unique obstacles and challenges. Oftentimes these obstacles and challenges have different solutions. The easy solutions involve shortcuts and produce mediocre results, while the difficult solutions involve more work and produce professional results. Doing things Safely, with Integrity, Leadership, and Communication, requires Perseverance. It is easy to take shortcuts, but having perseverance, working a little bit harder, and doing what’s right is the difference between a mediocre job and a professional one.

We recently hired Johnathan Verbenec of Magnolia Painting to paint a recently built pergola on our back deck, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results he provided. From our first meeting, Johnathan impressed us as being a true professional. He listened to our questions and concerns about the project, and offered two alternative approaches for its completion (each presented in a clear and detailed proposal and for a very reasonable price). Ultimately, the approach we selected called for the application of a primer coat and two coats of professional-grade paint to the rather complicated, interwoven timbers of our pergola. Although I've done a lot of painting over the years, this was no project for an amateur. We're so glad we found Johnathan! What sets Johnathan apart from other painters we've worked with is his craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and insistence on high quality work. Recognizing that our pergola was recently built, he tested the moisture levels in the wood at the outset to confirm that it had cured sufficiently and was ready for paint. Later, when he was a couple days into the project and temperatures neared freezing, he actually recommended pausing work for a day or two to ensure that the paint cured perfectly. After first checking with us, he resumed work over the weekend when the weather improved. Johnathan clearly takes pride in his work and wants to ensure that the job gets done right! From start to finish, Johnathan provided us with a best-in-class, 10-star experience. He treated our home with great care—no drips, no mess, and everything tidied up at the end of each work day. Jonah did an awesome job installing wallpaper for an accent wall in our nursery and a half bathroom. He was very detail-oriented from the start. The half bathroom was especially difficult because of all the angles and it being a relatively small room. He actually identified a small defect in how the manufacturer cut the paper which caused a very slight mismatch of the pattern. He let us know and reached out directly to the manufacturer about it. Because it was barely noticeable to us, we decided to proceed but this is just one example of how strong Jonah's attention to detail is. He also did a fantastic job cleaning up after the project, making sure furniture was placed back in the original location, and even mopping the floors. We are really happy with how everything turned out. I was referred to Magnolia by a realtor. Johna came to give me a quote. I got it quickly, AND it was a good price. I had a living room and bathroom painted, a couple half walls, and an accent wall in a bedroom. Johna also did the painting. He finished all the work in two days AND the quality is great! I contacted Magnolia Painting for a bid on repairing and repainting the exterior trim on 20+ windows and the front door of my two-story, 96-year-old house. Johnathan responded promptly and, when he visited, examined the door and each of the windows in order to prepare the estimate. Work started the second week in June 2025. Johnathan communicated regularly about his schedule, the work progress, and issues that arose. The first week, I was out of town and he ended up sending me photos of series wood-rot damage that he’d uncovered in an upstairs window, along with options for treating it. As things turned out, at least half of the windows needed some repair, and several had to have sills, top drip edges, or side boards replaced. Johnathan was meticulous about his work, taking the time to carefully and thoroughly sand, scrape, fill, caulk, and paint so that the trim was repaired structurally as well as aesthetically. He also touched up the wall paint where it had been impacted by the trim work, and he did it seamlessly. During the 2+ weeks, Johnathan was careful with plants and thorough with cleanup. We did walk-throughs on the two last days to make sure I was happy with everything. And I was. He showed up on time daily, worked hard every day, submitted to us a very specific and complete contract before we accepted the bid---I cannot imagine finding any fault with his work. He had to repair some quite ugly sheet rock areas where towel bars and Venetian blinds had pulled loose and left irregular, gaping holes -- the repair was beautifully done and smooth. He then painted the areas, and they look as good as they did when we moved in in 1977 (yes, it's been that long). He communicated very well with us, keeping us up-to-date on all aspects of the job.
